Mike McWilliams, ARRIS Senior Product Manager, will be speaking at 2:00pm on ‘Driving Fiber Deeper’ and specifically on Optical Beat Interference as an optical phenomenon inherent to RFoG (RF over Glass) fibre-to-the-home access networks. When it occurs, the upstream optical transmission path performance is severely degraded. Understanding its underlying causes and effects is important to provide operators with options to minimise the impact upon future service and disruption to subscribers so that operators can maximise the potential of this advanced network.
