2018 Season Begins:
ARRIS Defending 3 Championships!

After an amazing season from our drivers and the whole ARRIS Racing team, we start the season as the defending champions in 3 series: NASCAR Peak Mexico V8, Challenge, and Freightliner Truck.  Success brings change and, because Fabian Welter won the NASCAR Peak Mexico Challenge Championship, he has advanced  to the V8 category.  For this reason ARRIS Racing is launching the career of another new, promising, young driver named, Rodrigo Rejón Basañez who will race in the ARRIS #3 car in the Challenge Series.  Rodrigo joins our reigning multi-champion, Abraham Calderón, on the ARRIS Racing Team in Mexico.

In the same way the ARRIS Racing Team is proud to help other Mexican drivers make history, like Daniel Suarez is doing in NASCAR in the U.S., we are happy to be part of the success of Fabian and, of course, Abraham. We wish Fabian the best in his future endeavors and welcome the opportunity to the support Rodrigo in this new chapter of his racing career with the help of Jimmy Morales, team president,  and the whole Escuderia Telcel-Telmex Racing Team.

The 2018 season starts March 25 in Monterrey Mexico, which is very promising: ARRIS has offices there and our local colleagues are very enthusiastic and always provide enormous support, forming an essential part of the extended ARRIS Racing Team.

Drivers, start your engines!

The ARRIS Team scored a historical ‘hat-trick’ in the NASCAR PEAK México Series’ final round at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Abraham Calderón sealed two championships in the final weekend’s races (NASCAR PEAK V8 and Freightliner Truck series), and rookie driver Fabián Welter added a NASCAR Challenge title.

NASCAR PEAK – 4th Place; 1st Place Overall

Monterrey’s driver finished in the fourth place and it was more than enough to earn his second title of the series (he also won in 2014). In the truck race, he finished in fourth place to win this championship for second year in a row.

Abraham’s quote: “It is really amazing. I have no words to explain what I feel. We are the champions of NASCAR México and Freightliner Trucks. The boys did a great job not just today, but all the season long. I want to thank ARRIS, God and my family for all the support”.

FABIÁN WELTER (#3 ARRIS-Escudería Telmex)
Fabián Welter had clinched the title in last round at the Puebla race, so Sunday was essentially a ‘victory lap’ for the championship on Sunday, with a fourth place finish in the final round, giving Team ARRIS its third title of the season.

Fabián’s quote:
“I wanted to celebrate with a win, but it doesn’t matter. I’m very happy with the championship. I’d like to thank all the boys in Team ARRIS and Mr. Carlos Slim, CEO of Escudería Telmex Telcel, and team’s director Jimmy Morales. It was a great season”.
