As a Senior Software Engineer, you must understand engineering principles, concepts and techniques. In this role, you are exposed to numerous technologies and challenges. You must be able to take defined objectives and produce quality results, efficiently managing your time and delivering on schedule. You are also expected to enhance and contribute to long-term client relationships.
This position requires 2-6 years commercial work experience in software engineering and/or applications programming. You must have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Graduate degrees are preferred. Professional experience with one or more of the following: Java, C/C++, Visual Basic or Perl. Cross-platform experience is a plus.

Systems Engineer:

Systems Engineers are senior members of a technical team and are responsible for leading the definition, development, implementation and support of software systems. As a Systems Engineer, you will engage in the development and maintenance of business relationships with our clients. This role involves exposure to numerous technologies and challenges, and the opportunity to contribute to business practices and direction of the company.
You must understand engineering principles, concepts and techniques and be able to take defined objectives and produce quality results. You will have a leadership role in the lifecycle of projects and may be required to project manage other team members. You must be able to scope, plan, track and execute projects and have the ability to work on more than one task at a time. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be capable of working with the client on project issues.
This position requires 5-8 years of commercial software design and development, including 3-5 years of technical leadership experience. You must have excellent knowledge of client/server systems development, C/C++, Unix, Windows NT/2000, multi-threaded applications and shared object libraries. Experience developing database or session-based Web applications using HTML, CGI, Perl, Java and TCP/IP sockets is desired. You must have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field. Graduate or advanced degrees are preferred.

A Project Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality, successful solutions to our clients. As a Project Manager, you are expected to be highly skilled in the architecture, design, coding and testing of software applications. You should be able to design and implement entire sub-systems of complex systems. You must have a thorough knowledge of software testing and how to perform it.
You must be capable of breaking down large, complex problems into meaningful subsystems and developing an overall plan that accounts for budget, resources and time. You must have the ability to balance the ideal approach with business deadlines and priorities. You are expected to proactively manage projects, be a step ahead of any issues or complications, and manage your client’s expectations.
You must be able to develop detailed project schedules and track against them, manage risk, develop contingency plans, make best use of available resources, be creative in completing projects successfully and provide technical leadership and direction to your team(s). You will manage Arris, and potentially, client resources. You may or may not have coding responsibilities. If you are responsible for development, you should have a high quality of output, very low bug rate, and set an example for all other team members. In the end, you are responsible for the outcome of your projects.
You will also be involved in the pre-sales process, including client meetings, proposal development, project estimates, and technical, process, and problem definition. You must be articulate in both written and verbal communications and convey an image of confidence and competence throughout all communication. You must instill confidence in your team(s) and client(s). You must be capable of managing stress within yourself and your team(s). You must be very flexible – ranging from your work environment to management style to delegation of responsibilities.
Arris Project Managers follow a disciplined methodology that ensures repeatable, successful delivery of solutions to our clients. You and other Project Managers set and enforce quality standards and continue to refine the process through review and revision.
This position requires 7-10 years of experience as a Project Manager. You must have a thorough knowledge of systems architecture, design and development, as well as experience with a broad range of technologies and platforms. Experience working directly with customers is a plus. You should have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field. Graduate or advanced degrees are preferred.

Practice Director:

A Practice Director is responsible for the continued growth of Arris and in guaranteeing the high quality of our services. As a Practice Director, you are responsible for general management, client relationship management, project management, business development and technical leadership. You must build a team and instill Arris values within that team. You manage team members, defining goals and career paths for them.
You are also a member of the Arris Management Team and participate in creating processes and infrastructure. As a growing company, we need to make our key business processes defined and predictable. You must manage and engage in the development and maintenance of business relationships with your clients. In this capacity, you should be able to work easily with the client and gain their respect. We look to you to generate repeat business within existing clients.
You should be able to efficiently use the members of your team and track schedules for their work. You define project deliverables, track projects, define contingency plans, recommend project staffing requirements to clients, plan technology transitions, participate in sales calls, develop proposals, create supporting sales tools (white papers, etc) and properly represent Arris Systems and our technical capabilities.
You are responsible for the technical quality of your projects and are expected to have an excellent understanding of these projects. You must be skilled in the architecture and design of software applications. You should be able to work with others to develop the overall architecture of a system, as well as fully develop the design of a system, which is simple, elegant and easily understood by others. You should be respected for your technical knowledge by both Arris and our clients’ staff members.
This position requires 10-15 years of related experience in the technology field, including leadership and development positions. You must have a thorough knowledge of systems architecture, design and development. You should have experience with a broad range of technologies and platforms. You must have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field. Graduate or advanced degrees are preferred.
