Event trigger management for the ARRIS Modular Uplink System

Overview

The DigiCipher Event Manager (DEM) is a key part of the Modular Uplink System used for secure satellite and fiber transmission of video services. The DEM provides generation, management, and control of IRD analog cue tones and SCTE-35 digital splice insertion messages for local event triggering. Splice insert messages are sent directly from the DEM, while IRD analog cue tones are the result of hardware control messages sent from the DEM.

The DEM GUI provides the ability to create and manage scripts that are triggered by pre-determined schedule, RS-232 command, or input GPI triggers. The DEM includes an option to provide return path message monitoring. The DEM also includes a comprehensive SNMP MIB for external monitoring of traps. The DEM supports single chassis operation, or use in a 1:1 redundancy configuration.
