This year, the Cable Show will play host to Interactive TV Works’ 2014 Interactive Launch Competition. For ARRIS, this marks our third year of involvement, this time mentoring a team of MBA students from USC tasked with creating innovative strategies for recently launched video services and broadband apps.

Our own Tom Williams, has been working closely with the team from USC and ARRIS product leads: “We continue to participate in this competition because of the benefit it provides both parties—the students gain direct access into a leading cable company and we benefit from outside, often progressive, thinking.”

We won’t give away too much about our idea, but here’s a hint: it will involve a new model for deploying CPE that paves the way for significant cost reductions and new revenue streams.

In other words, we’re confident that our team will present its way into the top three spots of the competition to take home cash prizes towards education. Last year, ARRIS mentored the NYU Stern team, which won the competition. Mentorship is just one more way that ARRIS is inventing the future: developing tomorrow’s talent.

If you’re attending the Cable Show, join us for the “Launch-a-thon” on April 28 at 3:00 PM, join us by pre-registering or follow the NCTA’s blog for more info.
