Distributed Access Architectures are set to be a hot topic of discussion at ANGA COM 2016, as they represent a significant departure from today’s HFC access network.

But the challenge is choosing the best one. I-CCAP, R-PHY or R-MACPHY? They all have unique merits. In my presentation at the show in Cologne this week, I’ll highlight the key differences between a centralized approach with an Integrated CCAP and AM Analog Optics with distributed approaches such as Remote PHY (R-PHY) and Remote MACPHY (R-MACPHY). You will learn just how much capacity improvement you can expect from the distributed digital link and then learn the true story on Headend space and power savings.

After the centralized vs distributed discussion, I will dive deeper into the different types of distributed architectures and where each has its benefits. I then wrap up with some discussions on a hybrid Distributed Node Architecture that leverages the best benefits from DAA digital links, AM optic worlds and a new Hybrid PON (HPON) technology.
