Six talented high school robotics teams will attend SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2018 to share their mechanized creations with attendees on Tuesday. Oct. 23. These robots, some tipping the scales at as much as 120 pounds, are contenders in the FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) in the Atlanta area.

The teams and their amazing robots will set up shop in the Events Lounge in Exhibit Hall B3. Expo attendees will have a chance to learn about robotics as well as steer and manipulate individual robots!

ARRIS has made it a priority to support science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) initiatives in the Atlanta area -- including FIRST Robotics – which is dedicated to helping the next generation pursue careers in STEM. As the leading STEM program for students ages 6-18, FIRST Robotics designs programs to build self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills while motivating young people to work in STEM fields.

ARRIS Chief Information Officer Karen Renner will be on site to select two teams to win an ARRIS sponsorship in 2019. Please stop by the Events Lounge to meet the students and see the future of robotics in action:
